Based in Kobe, Japan, câbleami specializes in producing traditional headwear styles with a thoughtful, contemporary approach. Established in 2008 by designers Shuji and Tomoka Sadamori, the brand produces their headwear with original fabrics and manufacturing processes. The brand name comes from the traditional Alan Cable knitting pattern. The word "ami" has two meanings; "ami" in Japanese means "knit” and, in French, it means "friend”.
