Gray May
Here in Santa Barbara we have this weather pattern that we call Gray May and June Gloom—it’s a time when we get fogged in and it just doesn’t burn off, cooler temps hit, sweaters and coats resurface and we feel cold! This is an unusual time as most of our east coast friends are rejoicing the end of winter and we are simply cold. So while they come out of the woods, we tend to turn back inward and cozy up. In some ways it’s a time for me to reflect on what it means to be home, to not yet be traveling, to be winding down the school year, to be waiting for the big boom of Summer. Here’s what I am feeling in the store that reflects this kind of homebody mood. For the home, I am feeling our blankets and rugs. FURO’s easy picnic blankets double as a great layer while sitting and eating al fresco or of course as yet another baby blanket. Our rugs from Que Onda Vos are cozy and the colors are gorgeous. They add that extra touch to your home that you can’t find on Etsy and they are all made ethically by women in Guatemala. I love that. And we just received our first shipment of Jonathon Adler—candles and other home accessories to light and warm up our interiors.
Stay cozy,
Jen
