Wild Animals
Wild Animals are products, objects, animals by Rop van Mierlo. Mierlo's senior thesis studied humanity’s urge for control, intrigued by how people try to tame the world in any way they can. In the chapter about wild animals, if he drew a wild animal, he'd try to capture it in lines, but that’s just another way to control and tame it. How could I draw an animal that you can’t control? Inspired by drawing on uncontrolled wet paper at a Waldorf School, he began drawing tigers and all these the wild animals in this untameable way. That was the abstract idea. And they all turned out really funny and nice, so much so that led to Wild Animals.
